I found this interesting post on the Carlocab issue. I agree on the stand of the Connie regarding the criticisms made by Mr. Dela Serna, Noemi and all of their cohorts. The problem of those detractors is that they are afraid of the other bloggers. They only want those in their "circle" to be famous. They want to be the ones setting standards. It has been proven through time that these so called "bloggers" would not accept anything if it does not meet their standards. They are afraid to accept changes because "mapagiiwanan na sila". WHO ARE YOU TO SET THOSE STANDARDS?! Haha they said "acceptability"? What acceptability? Are they the rulers of Filipino bloggers? Since when did the elections happen?

I totally agree with what Connie said here:

"The truth is, the “disclosure policy” bit is a standard created by these PR bloggers. It is a self-serving standard, if there ever was one, because it was fashioned to justify these bloggers’ actions and manner of blogging. They will not accept lower standards so that they can feel superior BUT they will not accept higher standards too because that will make them look like leeches and mercenaries."

If Carlocab is indeed being coached by his father, so what?

Why is there a need to scrutinize the way other people blog? If I were to scrutinize the way you guys blog, I would SURELY find things to criticize. Like... Never mind.

One problem that I see with "this" group of bloggers is that they have crab mentality. Masakit mang sabihin pero parang mga utak talangka sila. Puwede na ring "inggitero". Yun lang yung nakikita ko. They might as well create an association of Filipino bloggers and I have a perfect name for it. Talangka Bloggers Association (TABA).

Maybe criticizing other people is their hobby.

Blue Eagles upset Archers, 80-77

IN A game that had all the trappings of the classic "Thrilla in Manila" 32 years ago, Ateneo edged bitter rival La Salle, 80-77, in overtime yesterday in the 70th UAAP basketball tournament.

Playing before an overflow crowd at the Araneta Coliseum, site of the memorable title fight between boxing legends Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, the Eagles delivered the final blows that sent the Archers reeling to their second straight defeat.

Chris Tiu, the Eagles’ main man, buried a three-point shot from the left side that gave Ateneo a 78-74 lead with 21 seconds remaining. His twin charities off Tyrone Tang’s fifth and final foul iced the victory for the Eagles.

It was a sorry loss for the Archers who had the chance to win the game in regulation, but failed to put up a decent shot in the last 13 seconds.

A pint-sized playmaker cum scorer with deep basketball roots stood out among Ateneo’s stars scoring 18 points, most of them coming at the height of the struggle between the two squads.

Jai Reyes, a nephew of national team coach Chot and former pro Gilbert, ran rings around the La Salle defenders, making running jumpers with relative ease.

Ateneo coach Norman Black was ecstatic.

"It feels good and we just like to dedicate this one to the school, to all the supporters because they’ve really been behind us the last two times we played La Salle, we did not play very well," said Black.

"The guys today had a lot of hunger and desire to win and we did a good job rebounding and we had an inside game and our perimeter shooters hit their shots," added Black, who finally tasted a win over La Salle as coach.

The Eagles erected a 58-51 advantage with 4:11 left on a triple by the 19-year- old Reyes.

But JV Casio caught fire and single-handedly brought La Salle back into contention.

West:
1. Dallas - is there any doubt?
2. Phoenix - Look out, the Spurs are right behind you
3. San Antonio - the old guys are doing it again
4. Utah - I don't think they can overtake the Spurs
5. Houston - solid
6. L. A. Lakers - They are sinking fast
7. Denver - They have a shot of moving to the 6th seed
8. New Orleans - I'm picking New Orleans just because I do not like the Clippers, K.G. cannot do it alone for Minnesota, and Don Nelson has given up on Golden State.

East:
1. Detroit - Cleveland cannot overtake Detroit, not just yet..
2. Cleveland - Lebron has become a monster, but can he do it come crunch time?
3. Miami - Even without D. Wade, I still think they can go up to no. 3
4. Chicago - They need to be more consistent to hold on to this spot
5. Washington - Deja vu?
6. Toronto - they just have to continue winning to be in the playoffs
7. Indiana - I still believe Carlisle can do it, but they will need Jermain O'Neal
8. New Jersey - This is a hard pick but I will go with Jason Kidd and Vince Carter.

New England Patriots Off season

The Pats have been busy this off-season with many free agent signings. I would never question the moves made by the Pats because they have been successful the past years. I believe that they have upgraded their wide receivers with their moves. I like their signings of Adalius Thomas and Donte Stallworth. Nevertheless, I still expect them to get a linebacker in the first round (with one of their picks). The other pick? Umm i don't know, maybe they'l get a defensive back or a wide receiver. Let's just wait.

NBA trading deadline

Wow! After all those rumors of a major trades happening before the trading deadline, nothing big happened! Many people (including me) have been expecting a major trade happening but none ever did. J. Kidd and V. Carter are still with the Nets, Pau Gasol is still with the Grizzlies, and Mike Bibby is still a King. I'm surprised that the Nets did not make a move. They did not trade Carter even though they may lose him at the end of the year without anyone in return because he may opt out of his contract. The Nets should have traded Kidd for draft picks. They are going nowhere this year. Rod Thorn should look ahead to the future and rebuild...

Nevertheless, I expect the off-season to be busy with many players disgruntled with their own teams and a good 2007 draft class with Greg Oden and Kevin Durrant.

By the way, Paul Pierce should be traded to a contender because his skills are being wasted by a stupid GM named Danny Ainge! On the other hand, I would also like him to be a Celtic for life.

First of all, I would like to congratulate David Stern for staging one of the WORST Slam Dunk Contests in the history of NBA! Damn it! It really sucks! Even KG Canaleta can dunk better than Tyrus Thomas or Nate Robinson! Tyrus Thomas has no creativity whatsoever and he did not even try to think of a creative dunk. On the other hand, Nate Robinson's dunks are not special! He just gets credit because he is small (In the first place, he should not have won the contest last year. Iguodala was just screwed!). Good thing he lost this time. Maybe the NBA should just stage a one on one match between Nate and Earl Boykins.

Gerald Green did fairly well..You can see that at least he prepared for it..

By the way, I liked Dwight Howard's dunk with a sticker. I think he was screwed! He should have been in the finals instead of Nate.

The three point contest is one of the best that I have seen in years. The scores were high and it was competitive. Kapono was really on fire and Nowitzki choked (as usual?). Gilbert Arenas has proven that he is a streak shooter. When he's hot, he's hot.

D. Wade won the skills challenge again. He is ARGUABLY the best basketball player now. (I'd like to see a finals rematch between Miami and Dallas.)

Ben Gordon is so dumb! They should have won in the shooting stars competition.

P.S.: The best part of the event is the racing match between Charles Barkley and Dick Bavetta.

My first blog

Good day to everyone! This is the first time that i wrote a blog so bear with me if it is useless. This is officially only my sixth day in my new work at Infinit-O and I am kind of enjoying it. My work as a junior business information analyst is very interesting because there are a lot of things that I can learn. Also, the people here are nice and fun to be with. To add to that, I like my work station! However, I am still trying to learn all that i need to learn in my job because as of now, I only know basic stuff. I hope that I become a regular here.
